Big Laughs From a Little Man

So today we went to pick up Shelley (Brian's Mom) from Geoff and Emily's. While Becky went to the front door, Brian decided to honk the horn. Lo and behold, James thought that was the most hilarious thing he had ever heard. Just listen to him laugh. Isn't he the best!?! Keep in mind that this was shot on Brian's cell phone.

5 Months

James is 5 months old today! Here are some pics that I took this last week and today. I took James to the doctor's office today for a weight and height check. He weighs 19 lbs. 0.5 oz. and 26 inches long. He only grew a quarter inch last month but gained 1 lb 4.5 oz. So he is growing his little heart out. I was at my friend's house this week and I tried James out in her Bumbo seat. It is this thing he is sitting in below. It is super cute and convenient but I don't have the $40 to buy it now and James already fills it up so he probably wouldn't have much more time in it anyway. But he looked so darn cute and happy that I had to take a picture. He is such a happy and a snuggly baby. He loves to cuddle up and lay his head on your shoulder. It is so sweet. Here he is with Brian right before church on Sunday. I made him wear his whole suite (including the jacket) this week. He looks like such a little man.

Brian's mom, Shelley, is coming this weekend and we are going to San Marcos to do a bit of shopping. I am so excited! James has pretty much grown out of his 9 month clothes so he needs yet another new wardrobe. I will let you know how it goes. I have heard that kids clothes are super expensive in Switzerland so maybe I will have to stock up for that as well. We shall see...

Bouncing Baby Boy

James has discovered that he likes to bounce. No, that is an understatement. He totally loves, loves, loves to bounce. Everyone has been telling me to get a jumper for James and so I was researching them online and realized that I already have one. Duh. My sister, Pink, gave me one like a year ago when she found out I was pregnant. So today, (yes, this actually happened today and I am already posting it) I put it together and James gave it a try. Here is the result.

I even managed to get a still picture of him. The rest were kinda blurry because he was jumping so much. He thought it was so fun so I broke out the video camera and realized that I haven't posted video of him because we lost the cord that connects the video camera to the computer. I really need to get a new one but in the meantime I decided it was time to try the "video" mode on our camera. That is what you see above.

Oh and on Sunday we decided to take James for a little walk to the park that is across the street from our house. It was a beautiful day. 80's with a bit of breeze. Perfect for shorts. Here are my two favorite people at the park. We also decided to give the swing a try. James is still a bit small for it but we put a blanket in to stabalize him and as you can see he really liked it. He liked it enough to try to eat the swing. That is when we decided to take him out. I am sure we will be using that swing lots this Summer. Of course, James likes almost everything enough to eat it these days. Everything except a pacifier. Try to give him one and he spits it out so fast you almost don't see it and then he gives you the most disgusted look. Like you are trying to harm him or something. Go figure. We also decided that it was time for shorts so here he is in his little overall shorts that someone gave him. I can't remember who right now but whoever you are, Thanks again! He looks so cute and I think that he really liked having his toes out to feel the carpet. He really is such a happy baby.

Say Cheese!

I know I have been promising to get these photos up since I had them done on March 26th but I didn't want to take forever to upload them all. Well, I finally did it. Here are just a few of the photos that were taken then. We went to Portrait Innovations and got these taken. They have a package you can get for $9.99 with no sitting fee but, of course, I am a sucker and I got more than just that package. I really loved the place cuz they take like 36 different poses and allow for outfit changes and such. They are a chain so check your local area to see if they have one near you. But don't try to go on a Saturday. It is way too busy. Unless you don't mind waiting. I do.

Doesn't he look totally luscious? He was very good that day even through all the outfit changes. He smiled his little heart out. There was only 1 ugly (his eyes were partially closed) photo out of 102 that they took.

Rock n' Roll

It has finally happened. Tonight at approximately 6 pm, James rolled over! I put him down to bed on his belly and about 10 minutes later I heard him "talking" to himself so I went in to check and see what was going on and I found this.He had rolled from his belly to his back! Of course he tried to roll back to his belly when I came in but he can't do that quite yet. He thought he was quite clever as you can see from his smiling face. He also managed to turn himself in the bed so that he was totally sideways. I just wish I had been there to see it happen. Oh well. I did break out the camera just to document the occasion. I can hardly believe that he is growing so fast. Was he really born just 4 1/2 months ago? Time really speeds by when you're having fun!

"To be angry is to yield to the influence of Satan. No one can make us angry. It is our choice. If we desire to have a proper spirit with us at all times, we must choose to refrain from becoming angry. I testify that such is possible."
