There was a fishing festival in Versoix that we decided to check out. James caught his first fish ever! He caught his first fish in about 5 seconds so we decided to let him try again for a second one after this.
We stayed a while after and played on the "beach" (it is all rocky and made of pebbles) and then had dinner there and listened to the music while the kids made some friends and danced for a while. It was a nice day.
The kids also did a painting project with me. I saw an idea for marble painting online and decided to try it with the kids. I decided that I would also buy a few extra canvases and prepaint them so that the boys could be creative and so that I could get their handprints and footprints. It was fun but they had to take a bath immediately after and I had to scrub the balcony off afterward. We have hung the pictures throughout the house and I have had friends ask where we bought that red/black and white picture (the marble painted one). I have even showed a few friends how to do this project and I am helping the primary do this as part of an activity on Saturday.
James had taken to giving Johnny lots of toys to play with in the morning. Johnny enjoyed it until the toys got to be too much for him to move when he would start yelling for us.
This is also the time when I James lost having his toys in his room. Can you tell why? He just made one too many "boats" out of his toys. I moved the toys to my room for a few months and just yesterday I moved them to the living room.
We also went raspberry picking a few times with Brian and the kids really liked that. It makes the raspberries actually affordable at about $4 a lb. if you pick them yourself. The boys especially love every minute they get to spend with Daddy.
As you can tell we had a laid back and fun ending to our summer.

This is the view that we had out our windows. Notice the tram in the forground? It pretty much ran all day and all night. And it wasn't exactly quiet. This is what living in the city is all about.
This is the new view that we have out the back of our current place. Much nicer hu? There is a great green area back there just for our building. And there are lots of little parks close by. Oh, and no tram out front. 
Here is the appartment after we furnished it with lots of used stuff and lots of Ikea stuff. It cost us about chf 4000 after it was all said and done. Brian can correct me if I'm wrong but that is what I think. This is our lovely living room looking out the back wall of windows. Like our used Ikea couch? We do. It folds out into a lovely double bed for those of you who decide to venture over here. Don't worry, there is a huge screen that rolls down over the back wall to give you plenty of privacy. We also have a little "office" set up on the other side of the room with a desk and such. It is a pretty big living room.
This is our bedroom. I made Brian splurge on a king sized bed. I am so glad I did. I love it. Totally worth the extra 100chf that we spent on it. Notice the windows are completely blocked? It is one of my favorite features that the appartments here have. They have these blinds that roll down from above and lock together to block out all light. Even during the day. Love that! 
And here is James' room. Like the second hand chair that we got at the local "D.I."? We do. 
His crib here is about half the size of his crib at home. 
Anyway, we are still looking for a car but I think I am closing in on one! Hopefully. I really want to put a car in my lovely garage. I will post about it as soon as I can get a car. Everyone keep your fingers crossed!
We left the hotel after James nap and made it to the garden by about 2:15 pm. We met Harmony and kids and had a blast. We rode the Carousel (we were on the second level in a lion). 
James just squealed with delight when the ride started and he could see everything moving around him. After the ride he made friends with a group of older people visiting from a home. He was really a charmer and was just giving out lots of smiles and laughs. He truly loves, loves, loves attention. And that may be an understatement. We always like to spread a little cheer when we can.
Then we walked around the garden a bit. It is way huge and we hardly made a dent in it but it is open year round so we will totally have to go back again and again. Oh, and did I mention that it is totally free? Super! Anyway, we saw some birds and then we went walking to see the rest of the animals and found a tiny little fountain that has driking water.
As soon as Harmony took a drink James just started laughing like crazy. For some reason it was totally hilarious to him when people played with or drank the water. He laughed for like 10 minutes straight. It was great. This picture is right by the fountain. James with Harmony's kids, Cado & Paisley.
Then we did finally make it to see the animals. They have a huge area with more birds (like Flamingos and Peacocks) and deer and goats. James thought it was quite nice to sit in his stroller and watch them. This is looking back from the animals toward the carousel in the background. Beautiful!
Then we went and sat in the shade of a big tree for a while and let the kids play. James, I hope, is starting to understand that grass is not for eating. He even crawled some more. Oh, and crawling is mostly reserved to grass at this point. He resorts to army crawling in most other situations. All in all it was a great day!
James had lots of fun and was totally kept entertained by Harmony's kids. It was very relaxing, except for dragging the stroller up and down stairs on the bus there and back. If you are ever in Geneva, I totally recommend the Jardin Botanique de Geneve. We were also there on Monday and that day was fun too but James choked on a leaf, ate lots of dirt and grass. See him trying the dirt? Silly Bimmy.
It was still fun. Oh, and he "accidentally" bit my friend Jennie's little boy. Oops. Now I am extra careful to make sure kids keep their fingers to themselves. It was a bit funny only cuz it reminded me of the Charlie clip from YouTube. If you haven't seen it then search for Charlie and you should find the clip. Quite amusing.
